Starting Sunday, May 18, 2025:
Have you ever wondered why there are so many “flavors” of Christian churches? There are the Catholics, Baptists, Lutherans, Orthodox, Presbyterians, Methodists, Episcopalians, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and many others; all claiming to be the genuine Christian church. This study of the history of Christian doctrine will help us understand the root causes of division in Christianity. We will see how our faithful Christian ancestors “contended for the faith once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3) and how they carefully crafted creeds that reflected biblical truth. The history will teach us what happens when we depart from the grammatical – historical interpretation of Scriptures as our only source of authority for faith and practice in our churches. This history will help us stay true to the faith against modern heresies.
